star was quick to apologise to her co-star live on air during Tuesday’s show. It comes after the duo were informing viewers of what was coming up later in the show.

They informed fans that at some point, they’d be delving into Jon’s time on Celebrity Mastermind. A small clip of the host in the hot seat was shown being asked a question by the presenter.

could be heard asking: “The five-letter word telly is an informal name for what household appliance?” As Jon gave the answer ‘television’, the quiz host told him it was the correct answer.

Back in the studio, Jon jokingly said to Nina: “You’d never of got that would you?” Defending the easy question, he told his co-star they got harder as the game went on.

Nina replied: “I’ve not seen it yet, I’m sorry I’m a bad friend! How did it go?”

Admitting that he was terrified while appearing on the long-running quiz show, Nina commented: “I think you’re really brave to do it! I take my hat off to you.”

Jon replied: “I thought you had all done it. I thought it was a right of passage for being on this programme.” However, Nina strongly disagreed as she told Jon her mind would go blank if she ever appeared on the quiz show.

Looking into the camera, Jon commented: “I’m giving Clive your number!”

During the show, Clive touched on his presenting role on Breakfast. He asked: “Millions of people wake up to you, what’s it like realising that your face is the first face they see?”

Jon replied: “I think it was the late Bill Turnbull who said, ‘The thing you’ve got to remember is lots of people are watching, which is scary, but a lot of them are in their pants!’

“So that’s what you have to try to imagine, but also try not to imagine at the same time! It’s a massive responsibility, but people still turn to the telly in the morning to find out what’s happened overnight and what they need to know for the day ahead.”

Celebrity Mastermind is available to catch up on iPlayer with Breakfast continuing weekdays on One from 6am.
