Over the weekend, star Christina Trevanion shared a video on as she cuddled the “newest addition to our family” as the mum-of-two announced she adopted a cat.

The antiques expert explained her beloved feline friend, Sprout, was sadly found last year with two broken legs and no previous owner came forward to claim him.

The 43 year old cradled the cat while inside her home as she stood in front of decorated Christmas tree. The post was accompanied by a short reel which included X-rays of Sprout’s injuries in December 2024 until now, and he has since made a full recovery.

She told her 49,400 followers: “Meet the newest addition to our family – Sprout.

“Sprouty was found with two broken front legs in December 2023 and had a ‘PTS’ order hanging over his head as no one came forward to claim him.”

Christina continued: “Thanks to the incredible team @catassistteamwhitchurch Sprouty was put back together. It has been a long and tough recovery for this little man and at every step of the way the volunteers @catassistteamwhitchurch have gone above and beyond for him.

We adopted Sprout in October 2024 and he is the sweetest, chattiest, most delightful addition to our family. He’s either found by my side or watching for squirrels on the bird feeder – thank you @catassistteamwhitchurch for trusting us with this very special boy.”

Social media users flocked to comment on the post as one person said: “Oh Christina!!! He is absolutely gorgeous and you’re lush for giving him a gorgeous new home.”

Another penned: “What a beautiful boy – so glad you found your forever home.”

A third wrote: “Way to go, Sprouty! And way to go, Christina!”

Christina tied the knot with her husband Aaron Dean in 2010 and the married couple share two daughters together.

She rarely shares any information on her family but Christina did reveal that she was keeping her young children well away from her antiques.

Speaking to Antique Collecting back in 2016, Christina was discussing her favourite pieces at home, explaining that she has “an eclectic mix” of antiques that she’s accumulated over the years.

She explained, “[I have] an eclectic mix of inherited family pieces and treasured saleroom purchases, I have two small children and so my 18th-century teapot collection was packed away until they get a little older!”
