The TV hard man who is a supporter of ‘s Reform UK said Britain “may just stand a chance” if Prime Minister Sir and Mr Khan, the Mayor of London, were replaced.
But some fellow social media users have taken issue of Mr Middleton’s choice of words – forcing him to explain why he used the word “cleanse.”
He wrote in a post on X: “Kier Starmer (sic) has got to go and whilst all of this is happening Britain is rotting from its core. I’m not hearing much from Sadiq Khan who also in my opinion has to go!
“If Britain replaces the current MP (sic) & Major of London (sic), it may just stand a chance.”
Mr Middleton said the UK needs to free both the country and capital from their “twisted grips” if Britain is to ever be rebuilt to a “bigger, better and more unified version of itself”.

Ant Middleton says Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has to go
The former SAS: Who Dares Wins presenter, who was sacked from his role on the hit show over a series of controversial tweets in 2021, said of Mr Khan and Sir Keir: “With these two at the helm, division will always be at the bow! Secure the perimeter and cleanse from the inside…”
Middleton also hinted he might be willing to enter politics further, prompting speculation online that he wants to be an MP or stand in the next London mayoral election.
A fan responding to one of Middleton’s X posts said they would love to see him as a Reform UK MP or Mayor of London, to which he replied: “Very interesting indeed!”
Some X-users welcomed such a move, with a second user tweeting, “We need you”, and several more urging him to “Go for it”.
Others took on some of the presenter’s claims, including that London is one of the murder captial of the world. Others took issue with his choice of the word “cleanse”.
Another X-user urged Middleton to explain how he would achieve his goals, adding: “Anyone can sit on here with meaningless sound bites.”
In a lengthy comment on X posted on Tuesday (January 7), Mr Middleton clarified his use of the word after another X user asked him if he meant ethnically.
Middleton replied: “Nice try but highly predictable! Priority number one; (sic) Cleanse it from being one of the murder capitals of the world. Cleanse it from knives, machetes and guns that are not only killing UK citizens but also our children.

Ant Middleton says he wants to cleanse London from being one of the murder capitals of the world
“Cleanse it from minors & woman (sic) being harassed and abused. Cleanse its roads from illegal vehicles (and drivers) that are being used to commit countless crimes on a daily basis.
“Cleanse it from the ridiculous charges that it imposes on an already heavily taxed country. Cleanse the tube, public transport and streets, they’re disgusting for a capital city.”
He went on to say the capital should be cleansed of the “ridiculously low and double standards” of the Metropolitan Police Force so everyone is treated fairly and feels safe to roam its streets.
Figures from Statista show seven out of the 10 most dangerous cities in terms of murder rate are in Mexico and none in the UK.
Research published in October revealed that more than eight in 10 young women aged 16-34 have experienced at least one form of sexual harassment or assault in a public space in London in the last two years.
Figures published by from a Freedom of Information request submitted to Scotland Yard show almost 24,000 stolen vehicles were logged in London in 2023.
Middleton also said he wanted to celebrate and place to the forefront Britain’s “wonderful” culture, heritage, values and morals to make London “the heartbeat” of the UK again.
He also hit back at the same X user for pointing out his error in writing “major” instead of “mayor”, posting in reply: “London must set and lead by example.
“Do you want me to go on? Ooh and you’ve actually given me an idea for a new title when I do eventually become Mayor of London… Major Mayor MIDDLETON! Now that’s got a nice ring to it. I’m coming.”
London’s mayor has been under fire in recent days after it was announced that the former human rights lawyer would be knighted.
Critics of the decision pointed to levels of knife crime in the capital, tax increases and ULEZ, while supporters hailed the mayor’s efforts to clean up London’s toxic air and provision of free school meals for primary school children.
The Mayor of London’s office has been approached for comment. The Metropolitan Police declined to comment.
