Channel 4 has announced the release date for its much-anticipated documentary on the life of the controversial rock star, Marilyn Manson.
The three-part series, titled Marilyn Manson: Unmasked, delves into the journey of one of rock music’s most divisive figures, including recent abuse allegations levelled against him, which he refutes.
The synopsis states: “From his meteoric rise as the self-proclaimed ‘Antichrist Superstar’ to the chilling abuse allegations that have engulfed his career, this series dives deep into Manson’s world to separate fact from fiction.”
The first episode, The Birth of Marilyn Manson, will air on Channel 4 at 10pm on January 14 and will delve into the musician’s early career and ascent to fame, featuring insights from early fans, collaborators, and fellow musicians.
The synopsis reveals: “From his shocking stage antics to his offensive backstage behaviour, Manson became a lightning rod for moral panic. Accused by many of being a malign influence on American youth, he faced backlash for allegedly inspiring violence, including the Columbine High School massacre.”

The documentary’s next episode, Allegations of Abuse, is set to air on January 15 again at 10pm. It will feature an interview with actress Evan Rachel Wood, Manson’s former fiancee, who came forward in 2021 with allegations of “horrific” abuse against the singer.
Her accusations led to Manson being dropped by his record label and prompted other women to share their own experiences of alleged sexual misconduct.

The final episode, titled The Reckoning, will be broadcast on January 16 at 10pm and will examine the aftermath of the abuse allegations against Manson, exploring the wider implications for the entertainment industry, reports .
This comes as Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, has announced his return to touring in 2024, his first since the allegations surfaced. He has denied the claims made against him, describing them as “horrible distortions of reality”.
The documentary’s release coincides with the upcoming European leg of his tour, which is scheduled to kick off in Zurich on February 10.
