Why did Sofía Vergara yell at Jodie Foster at the Golden Globes?

Sofía Vergara and Jodie Foster reignited their “feud” at the 2025 Golden Globes

At the awards ceremony, which was held Jan. 5, Vergara and Foster went head-to-head in the category for best performance by a female actor in a limited series, anthology series or a motion picture made for television.

After presenters Seth Rogen and Catherine O’Hara named Foster as the winner for her performance in “True Detective: Night Country,” Vergara feigned a disgruntled reaction.

As Foster hugged her family and co-stars and walked to the stage, Vergara jokingly shouted from the audience, “No, no! Again! Give me one!”

“I know,” Foster responded and chuckled as the audience also laughed. The camera then panned to show Vergara, who was nominated for “Griselda,” giggling at her table.

Foster continued, “You know, the greatest thing about being this age and being in this time is having a community of all these people, especially you, Sofía.”

She went on to thank the cast and crew, the Indigenous people who shared their story with her, her sons and wife Alexandra Hedison.

When Foster ended her speech, Vergara pretended to look upset and mouthed to the camera, “Again.”

Vergara and Foster’s back-and-forth is an ongoing bit the two share.

They also were nominated in the same category for the same roles at the 2024 Emmys in September, where Foster was named the winner as well.

After losing at the Emmys, Vergara poked fun at her defeat on Instagram. She shared a video of her at an Emmys afterparty eating a hamburger.
