Ben Habib calls for the “democratisation” of Reform UK
The ousted former deputy of has issued a fresh blow to the party – as he states the party begins and ends with .
And Ben Habib says he’d be “very happy” to serve under Rupert Lowe following a social media spat where billionaire called for a new party leader.
Taking to his social media platform X, the tech-tycoon said: “The Reform Party needs a new leader. Farage doesn’t have what it takes.”
Mr Musk issued the statement yesterday following a string of statements attacking major political figures due to Labour blocking a national public inquiry into the .
However, Mr Habib, who quit the Reform UK last year due to “fundamental differences” has said a change of leader can only happen if a “democratisation” takes place.

Ben Habib would be “very happy to serve under” Rupert Lowe
Mr Habib told the Express: “Nigel owns Reform UK Limited and therefore there can be no change of leadership. It is king Nigel and everyone has to do what he says, when he says it.
“He has said repeatedly that he would democratise the party, he even drafted some form of constitution which is a rehash of something I rejected two years ago, but that has not been adopted – it certainly hasn’t been registered with the electoral commission, and he continues to own 60% of the company that is Reform UK Limited.”
Mr Habib goes further, saying that the party begins and ends with Mr Farage and that change is desperately needed.
He said: “Unless and until there is a democratisation of the party, with checks and balances brought into place, a broader team of people created, Reform UK is only . That is the beginning and end and all of it, frankly.
“If there was a mechanism by which leadership could change then Rupert Lowe would be a fantastic leader.”
He added: “I’d be very happy to serve under him, and of course that would be subject to the democratic approval of the members.”

Reform UK MP for Great Yarmouth Rupert Lowe
The Tesla boss also appeared to divert his support to the Reform MP for Great Yarmouth.
Replying to a tweet suggesting Mr Lowe takes over, Mr Musk wrote: “I have not met Rupert Lowe, but his statements online that I have read so far make a lot of sense.”
But responding to this Mr Lowe remained resolutely loyal and has stood by Mr Farage saying.
He said: “Nigel is leader of Reform.
“He made happen, and for that I will always be grateful.”
He added: “I look forward to working with Nigel and the entire team to continue to hold this incompetent Labour Party to account, democratise our own party, win the next election and form a Reform Government.”
