Lorraine Kelly ‘so sad’ as she pays tribute to late co-star after sudden death

was “so sad” to discover one of her co-stars had died at the age of just 32.

The daytime host took to on Monday (January 6) to express her condolences for Drag Race UK star The Vivienne, real name James Lee Williams, who passed away on Sunday (January 5).

Lorraine had interviewed The Vivienne on her show, along with starring in a series of the same programmes including Blankety Blank and Saturday Night Takeaway.

On , Lorraine posted a snap of the pair chatting via Zoom, writing: “THE VIVIENNE – so sad. A lovely person and a bloody good laugh. So quick witted and a joy to interview. And kind. Also a truly brilliant entertainer.”

Cheshire Police were called to an address in Chorlton-by-Backford close to Chester at 12:22pm on Sunday, after hearing reports of a sudden death. A spokesperson said: “Police attended, investigated the circumstances of the death of the 32-year-old man and concluded there were no suspicious circumstances. A file will be prepared for the coroner.”

A statement from The Vivienne’s representatives said: “It is with immense sadness that we let you know our beloved James Lee Williams – The Vivienne – has passed this weekend. James was an incredibly loved, warm-hearted and amazing person.

“Their family are heartbroken at the loss of their son, brother and uncle. They are so proud of the wonderful things James achieved in their life and career.

“We will not be releasing any further details. We please ask that James’s family are given the time and privacy they now need to process and grieve.”

The Drag Race star had only just posted about their dreams for 2025 in a haunting final post, sharing highlights from 2024 and writing: “Some 24’ highlights. What a year it’s been. Here’s to reaching new heights and achieving dreams in 25. Wishing all the most prosperous new year. You got this, Viv xxx.”
