A driving expert has shared a that motorists must remember to take with them on in order to keep themselves and other road users safe.
With many parts of the UK currently facing weather warnings, it is vital that drivers keep themselves and their vehicle prepared for and icy conditions.
Richard Owen-Hughes, from highlighted that one item all motorists should keep in their car in low temperatures is a set of high-visibility jackets, which could be .
He said: “Leaving your vehicle in clothing which makes you easily visible to other drivers can be is hugely important, especially on busy roads. The winter weather can bring with it due to such as fog or snow and therefore high visibility vest are a must.
“It’s advisable to always have a high vis vest in your vehicle in case of emergencies, and make sure to pack enough for other passengers.”

Similarly, Driver Hire recommended that Brits also pack a change of clothes for each occupant in the vehicle.
Whilst it may seem trivial, bringing along a warm and waterproof outfit for each passenger can help them to feel comfortable if they are stranded at the roadside or need to leave the vehicle.
In particular, the company advised that drivers pack items including waterproof coats, jumpers, gloves, hats, and sets of winter boots.

A warning triangle can help to alert approaching vehicles that a driver has broken down
Richard also suggested that drivers looking to stay safe in the event of a winter breakdown should keep a warning triangle in an easily accessible place.
He continued: “Warning triangles are crucial for providing oncoming drivers enough time to react, especially in snowy weather conditions.
“Use them when possible, but it is advised to not use these in extremely windy weather conditions or on the motorway, as they can blow onto the road.”
Finally, the motoring expert urged all drivers to bring a portable charging device with them for long winter journeys, which could come in handy if they are stranded with a dead phone.
He added: “Having a multiuse battery pack to charge electrical devices could mean you can still make that call to a helpline, and get out of a dangerous situation.
“With the weather getting worse and driving conditions becoming increasingly dangerous, drivers must be more aware than usual and take extra precautions when it comes to safety.”
