A dog’s reaction to being asked to go out in the rain has given people a reason to laugh.
It seems even are not enjoying the cold rainy many places in the UK have seen over the past few days as Pawz, a not for profit organisation that works to save homeless animals from euthanasia, posted a video of a black being asked to raise his paw if he doesn’t want to go out in the rain. The woman speaking to him in the video sang the children’s song ‘If You’re Happy and You Know It Clap Your Hands’ and replaced it with lines such as ‘If you don’t want to poop in the rain, raise your paw’ but in the same tune.
He did, indeed, raise his paw after every line she sang, leaving users in stitches. The video was filmed with the pug standing at the doorway wearing a jacket with the hood up and he had a firm frown on his face, adding to the amusement.
The last line the woman sang to the pug was ‘If the ground is really soggy and you don’t want to go potty if you don’t want to poop in the rain raise your paw’ and hilariously, this time he raised his paw twice. Many people have engaged with the video as it has got a staggering 14.8 million views, 1.6 million likes and more than 7,000 comments.

Pet Helpful, a website that offers advice to pet owners, for why dogs don’t like to potty in the rain, including lack of exposure to rain when dogs were puppies and feeding off their owner’s reactions.
On the website it says: “I don’t know about you, but many people avoid the rain as much as possible when walking their dogs. Many run with anything over their head or avoid puddles like they’re the plague.
“Dogs are very in tune with our emotions and how we perceive things. The fact that we make a big deal about rain and getting wet can affect how our dogs experience weather as well.”
