The fringe-sporting presenter has openly shared the tricky balance between her bustling TV career and family life, often quipping that her husband is “a better parent than me”.
Married since 2000 to her film producer partner, the beloved host revealed that her children frequently ask for more personal space, especially during the busy ten months of the year when she’s wrapped up with the show.
In a candid interview with MailOnline, Claudia admitted that her intrusive parenting style is a trait inherited from her own mother, Eve Pollard, 76, a former newspaper editor. She humorously blamed this “awful” habit on her upbringing.
“I get on the tube all the time but I’ve never been recognised in my life, never in my life. I’m on there four times a day with my kids I’m on telly sometimes but only for two months in the year and the rest of the time, I zip around.

“I follow them around and I’m a very annoying human being to them.
“They say, “Mum give us some space,” and I say ‘no’. I’m awful. It comes from my own mum.”
Claudia has recently taken her collaboration with her husband Kris to new heights by joining forces professionally after leaving the talent agency YMU in July to work at Little Arrow, a company Kris founded.
She has openly discussed the challenges of balancing a high-profile career with her family life, noting: “My husband is a better parent than me. We share, and when one of us is snowed under, the other person will help. He knows that in the lead-up to the Strictly final, for example, I’m useless, so he might be in charge of getting Christmas presents for our nephews and nieces.”
The charismatic TV figure also revealed the softer side of their relationship, highlighting the romantic disparities between them. “I’m not a romantic person, he’s much more romantic than me, the poor guy!”
