BBC Traitors star Paul originally had secret game plan for season two

TV star Paul Gorton has admitted that he originally had a hidden game plan when he went on last year. The former business manager appeared on the hit series as a Traitor contestant and became an internet sensation.

Known for his sociopathic villainous persona, Paul was remembered was being devious until he was banished from the castle by the remaining Faithfuls.

However, since appearing on the show, he has revealed on a podcast a hidden gameplan he originally intended to use. The 36 year old intended to change his name and put on an Irish accent.

Speaking on the Chatabix podcast with comedian Joe Wilkinson, Paul confessed: “I was actually gonna be a completely different character and I was also gonna change my name, my accent, my background, I was literally gonna be someone else.”

Joe quipped: “Imagine trying to keep that up for two weeks,” to which Paul replied: “I think I could do it. I was gonna be Irish.”

It comes after series three contestant Charlotte revealed on the show that she had adopted a Welsh accent in order to come across as more trustworthy to the other players.

The new season has already given us plenty of suspense and drama, with the faithfuls already banishing a Traitor and getting one step closer to winning the prize money.

It is up to the Traitors to kill off a faithful each day without causing suspicion within the group. Each day, the cast complete a series of challenges with a chance to win an immunity shield to avoid being murdered by the Traitors that evening.

Later on in the day, the group congregate around the round table and vote off one contestant who they suspect to be a Traitor, each sharing their theories as to why.

Regardless of their role, the eliminated contestant is then forced to reveal if they are a Traitor or a Faithful to the cast before leaving the castle for good.

Then, in the early hours of the night, the Traitors meet in the clocktower to concoct their game plan and plot over which contestant they should murder next.

If any Traitors are left by the end of the series, they walk away with the entire cash prize. However, if all the Traitors are caught by the Faithfuls – the money is then split evenly with the remaining players.

The Traitors resumes on One on Wednesday 15th January at 8pm.
