could look to get their season back on track by spending big on Matheus Cunha amid a worrying issue up top.

The Gunners’ hopes of ending a two-decade-long wait for a title took yet another blow on Saturday night when ’s side were held to their seventh draw of the season.

As has been the case with most games this season, it was a result that didn’t come without controversy.

A contentious Joao Pedro penalty levelled things up for Brighton in the second half, after Ethan Nwaneri opened the scoring for the travelling title hopefuls.

Despite having over half an hour to find a winning goal, were forced to settle for the point – a result that leaves their title chances hanging by a thread.

During what many had touted as ‘’s year’, the inquest into why it’s and not the capital club taking advantage of ’s sharp decline appears to have already started.

While their tally of 40 points is the same as it was last season, are yet to show any discernible signs of improvement, with the continued injury crisis only making things worse for Arteta and co.

’s chief creator, , was ruled out until the spring after undergoing surgery following a hamstring injury picked up last month.

The Englishman’s absence was glaringly obvious against Brighton, as a blunt Gunners side struggled to create much against a largely untested Seagulls backline.

Worryingly for Arteta, the numbers suggest his team’s deficiencies in attack could prove quite the problem while Saka is in the treatment room, as only one other Gunners player makes the top 30 for big chances created in the .

That being Declan Rice and while the 25-year-old does possess a potent threat in the final third, particularly from set-pieces, it’s less than ideal that ’s best available creator operates from such a deep midfield role.

Cunha, should take the plunge and sign the Wolves attacker, is a player who would likely address such issues.

He ranks sixth in the list of big chance creators this season with 11 and has shown since arriving in the he has a killer edge in front of goal.

The Brazilian has registered 14 goal contributions already this term – numbers made all the more impressive when considering how dismal Wolves had been for most of the season under Gary O’Neil’s stewardship.

It’s no surprise Wolves are working hard to tie Cunha down to a long-term contract, but even if he does pen a new deal with the West Midlands outfit, it doesn’t fully rule out a move to either in January or the summer.

– a price might have to pay sooner rather than later to address their creative imbalance.
