Prue Leith was unmasked as Pegasus
Pegasus was the second contestant to be shown the door on the popular guessing game show.
Sunday’s episode (January 5) saw Prue Leith unmasked as the celebrity behind Pegasus, while , following Saturday night’s (January 4) suspenseful cliffhanger.
Returning panellists , Mo Gilligan, and Jonathan Ross were joined by special guest Vicky McClure, all eager to decipher the identities of the celebrities beneath the extravagant costumes.
Bush, Pufferfish, Pegasus, Wolf, Toad in the Hole and Bear made their series debut, but it was Pegasus and Bush who failed to win over the studio audience, landing them in the bottom two.
After the celebrity detectives saved Bush, Pegasus was left to reveal their identity.

Before the big reveal, the panel shared their guesses: Mo suggested Jane Seymour OBE, Davina guessed Elizabeth McGovern, Vicky thought Clare Balding, Jonathan suspected Prue Leith and Maya proposed Joanna Lumley, reports .
However, it was ultimately revealed that Bake Off star Prue was the face behind the mythical creature costume.
Following her reveal on the hit show, the 84-year-old admitted to presenter Joel Dommett that she took singing lessons just for her stint on the programme. However, viewers were unanimously quick to spot something as Pegasus bowed out from the contest.
Prue Leith said she took singing lessons before taking part in The Masked Singer.
Flocking to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, fans couldn’t hold back their comments. One user confidently posted: “#maskedsingeruk probably the easiest one ever.”
Meanwhile, another chimed in with: “Yes it was prue a judge from bake off #MaskedSingerUK.”
The guesses kept rolling in as another viewer exclaimed: “I knew it! PRUE LEITH. I got one right!” And yet another fan boasted: “Got it right.”
The competition remains fierce as Bush, Pegasus, Wolf, Toad in the Hole, Bear, Teeth, Dressed Crab, Kingfisher, Snail and Tattoo all vie for the crown in the 2025 run of the beloved series.
