ITV The Masked Singer fans ‘expose’ Snail’s identity as music legend after huge giveaway

viewers are certain they know which star is behind the elaborate Snail mask.

The hit programme returned on Saturday (Jan 4) with a new series and fresh batch of celebrities who took to the stage, hoping to keep their identity hidden from the fans and judges.

Mo Gilligan, Jonathan Ross, and , returned to the panel, welcoming new judge and special guest Sir Mo Farah as the sixth series kicked off.

A number of hints were given ahead of Snail’s performance, with items in the VT including a Welcome Home tag, an old school uniform, and a Chivalry & Etiquette book.

In a garden-themed performance, Snail belted out their own rendition of ‘Espresso’ by Sabrina Carpenter.

Davina guessed Emma Willis was masquerading as Snail, while Mo Gilligan suspected ‘s Amber Davis. Meanwhile Sir Mo Farah was sure it was none other than Spice Girl Emma Bunton.

The character’s polished performance led fans to believe the singer had a seasoned voice, prompting fans to flock to X with their theory that former judge is behind the mask.

One speculated: “Snail’s voice sounds like Cheryl but it can’t be??!!”

Picking up on certain clues, a second claimed: “Snail is Cheryl Cole – St Trinian’s (Girls Aloud did music video) and she said Toon not tune.”

Another added: “No idea about snail. I do think the singing voice sounds a bit like Cheryl but the clues don’t relate to her.”

Echoing this, a fourth posted: “Snail is sounding very Cheryl Cole to me? Or am I tripping?”

Others have speculated that someone with a link from Bridgerton is behind the mask after a clue linked to period dramas.

One suggested it could be Nicola Coughlan, while another speculated star Sally Dynevor – mother to Daphne Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor – has been performing as Snail.

Other names thrown into the mix include Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon, Doctor Who star Jenna Coleman and Spice Girls singer Emma Bunton.
