Carol Acosta, a Dominican Republic-born influencer with a staggering 6.6 million followers, has tragically died at the age of 27 after reportedly choking on her and suffering a The devastating news was confirmed by Acosta’s younger sister Khatyan, who herself boasts an impressive 130,000 fans.
Sharing a heartfelt selfie of the pair on a , her sister wrote: “I love you sister and I will always love you.I give thanks to God for giving me a sister like you with your big heart. Rest in peace my sister.”
In a tearful video address, she thanked those who had sent messages of condolences, saying: “To all the people who are sending me messages of condolences, I want to thank you a lot for being there and for your support. And thank you also for supporting my sister while she was still alive. The family is still awaiting autopsy results for Carol, better known as Killadamente to her social media followers.
A cousin revealed: “I know everyone wants to know what happened, but we still are not too sure and we are awaiting the post-mortem results. All I know is that she was having dinner as normal and she began to choke and have difficulties breathing. She had an attack of some kind, she was taken to hospital, but they couldn’t save her”, reports

Carol, who relocated to the US from her Caribbean island homeland at the age of 12, endured bullying as a child due to her weight. The plus-size sensation turned her struggles into comedy, amassing a legion of followers with her empowering mantra of self-love and acceptance.
In 2017, she dropped the anthem ‘Me Amo y No Me Importa’ – or ‘I love myself and I don’t care’ in English. The track opens with the lines: “I’m different, and they call me Killadamente. Even if I fall down I suddenly get up again. I’m brave, I’m a bit arrogant. I take care of myself a lot, because I’m the one who stands up for myself.”
In July, Carol joyfully shared news of her third pregnancy, having welcomed her second child in February. The influencer, already mother to one-year-nine-month-old Reina and four-month-old Legend, excitedly posted on with a snap of her positive pregnancy test: “I’m pregnant. I can’t believe it family. I’m expecting my baby number 3.”
A month prior, she had a spiritual awakening, renouncing drugs and turning towards faith. Her declaration was heartfelt: “I repented, I died, I was born again. And my brothers and sisters I am now proudly free from sin. God forgave me and it feels so good to be free from the anxiety and depression that used to force me to take drugs and do things I didn’t want to do.”

In a poignant video just one day before her untimely passing, Carol mused while dressed in a sleek black outfit and full make-up: “I always thought God had his favourites because there are people who eat and don’t get fat. But looking at me properly, are you telling me, someone who has no extensions and has not gone in for any cosmetic surgery when I’m looking like this! I’m on that list of favourites and no-one’s going to convince me otherwise.”
Fans left heartbroken messages on her social media account after the news broke. One fan penned: “May this goddess who never let herself be humiliated by anyone rest in peace.” Another supporter wrote a heartfelt message that read: “A mother left us, because more than an influencer, she was a mother and I swear there is nothing harder than losing one of your parents. God bless those creatures. I am 24 years old and I miss my dad every moment and I really don’t know what to do without him.“
Carol’s loved ones have since asked fans for help with funeral costs. A statement from her family shared online read: “On January 3 our dear Carolar better know as Killadamente passed away. “The Acosta Gonzalez family shares its pain with everyone who knew her. At her young age she managed to help thousands of people through her work but on this occasion we unite and ask for your help in making sure she has the farewell she deserves. I love you sister and I will always love you.
“If it’s within your possibilities we would appreciate a contribution however small to help go towards funeral costs and help her family and children overcome this enormous loss.”
