Tennis star Alexander Bublik has admitted he once spent £80,000 on himself in a single month. The Kazakhstani star is currently ranked at No. 33 in the world and reached the third round of last year.
Bublik has won four titles throughout his career and has featured at every Grand Slam since the 2019 .
And he has won over £6million in prize money since turning professional in 2016.
Bublik spoke to about his career as he offered a glimpse of life at the highest level of tennis.
During the interview, the 27-year-old was quizzed about the amount of money he spends on himself. And he replied: “It’s hard to say, I haven’t counted. I live normally. If you give me a number, I can tell you whether it’s close or not.”
He was then asked whether he had ever splashed out £80,000 in a single month and exclaimed: “Probably, yes. Maybe I was on vacation, undergoing treatment at a clinic, doing check-ups alone or with my family.”

Bublik, who at and in the same interview, then revealed he is happy to spend cash as long as he is putting most of it to good use.
“I do not limit myself or my family in anything, since my income allows,” he added. “Nevertheless, I try to approach this issue rationally – I buy valuables, real estate, invest. The main thing is not to think that the money will never run out.
“You can very easily spend absolutely any amount in a very short time. If you really want to, you can spend a million dollars, and two, and five, and 10 within a month.
“This money is earned with great difficulty – I do not get it from the sky, so I treat it with respect. Of course you need to please yourself and your family. Money should be spent with pleasure.”

Bublik was also asked to give his thoughts on sportspeople such as footballers who earn huge wages every week.
And the tennis star explained: “You gave the example of football. Here, probably, we can say that players in some leagues receive disproportionately much in comparison with their level of play. This is a fact.
“But if you are so worried about the salaries of football players, do not fill the stands of the stadiums. I look at the same Zenit arena – it is full, 60,000 people come. People themselves bring them money. In this case, it is not the athletes who need to be scolded, but the management.”
