Ramsay’s chocolate mousse includes an unusual ingredient which gives it a creamy texture without using eggs – avocados.
The four-ingredient mousse also uses honey instead of sugar, which means it is free of refined sugars.
Honey contains antioxidants, which can help improve cholesterol. Honey also raises blood sugars more evenly compared to refined sugars.

How to make Gordon Ramsay’s chocolate avocado mousse
Ingredients
- Two large ripe avocados, peeled and stoned
- Three to four tbsp runny honey, to taste
- One tsp vanilla extract
- 50g raw cacao powder
Method
1. Put the avocados into a food processor and blend until smooth and creamy in texture.
2. Next, add three tablespoons of the honey with the vanilla and cacao powder and blend again until completely combined. Taste and add more honey if necessary.
3. Spoon the mousse into eight shot or sweet wine glasses and refrigerate for an hour before serving.
