BBC’s Call the Midwife is set to return for season 14 and fans are eager to know who will be gracing their screens in the premiere episode.
Viewers were given a sneak peek of what’s in store at Nonnatus House during the show’s highly anticipated Christmas Day special.
Now, the popular series is gearing up for a full return, with the first episode of Call the Midwife season 14 scheduled to air on Sunday, January 5, at 8pm on One and iPlayer.

Philip Cunningham – Paul Thornley
In the upcoming episode, following the festive special, the parents of a pregnant teenager shock the midwives by claiming an immaculate conception.
The role of the teenager’s father, Philip Cunningham, is portrayed by actor Paul Thornley.
Thornley has had numerous minor roles throughout his television career, including appearances in Piglets, Silent Witness, The Gold, Vera and Sexy Beast.
However, Thornley is perhaps best known for his work on stage, having performed in productions such as A Chorus of Disapproval, The Three Musketeers and It’s A Wonderful Life.
He also made a name for himself by originating the role of Ron Weasley in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in both the West End and Broadway.

Actress Caroline Faber was Merlin’s mum Hunith in the BBC fantasy drama Merlin.

Philip’s wife, Grace Cunningham, is the mother of their young pregnant daughter who shares her husband’s belief in immaculate conception.
Caroline Faber, known for her roles as Hunith in the ‘s Merlin and Sue Ashbury in ITV’s Joan alongside Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner, is set to appear as Professor Florence Parker-Lee in the upcoming conspiracy thriller series Prime Target on Apple TV+.
Paula Cunningham – Kitty Anderson
Paula Cunningham is the pregnant daughter of Philip and Grace who remains silent about her pregnancy circumstances.
Actress Kitty Anderson is a newcomer to the industry, with previous appearances in Doctors, The Bastard Son, The Devil Himself and A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder.
