Washing-up liquid can be picked up for as little as 60p from supermarkets like Asda and Lidl.

It is recommended to wash an air fryer after every use to prevent a build-up of dirt and bacteria.

If the basket becomes caked in grease and grime, it can even impact the efficiency of the appliance.

Other group members recommended soaking a hard dishwasher tablet in the air fryer if it is super stubborn dirt.

The cleaning agents in a dishwasher tablet help to break down fats and oils, making it much easier to rinse away.

Rinse away the dirty water and gently scrub the basket or insert to unveil a sparkling appliance.
