Despite undergoing treatment for the majority of last year, with , the King has remained in good spirits and continued to work whenever he has been given the go-ahead by doctors.
While he did not conduct the most royal engagements last year as a result of these health setbacks, the King did fall into second place behind his sister Princess Anne when it came to the number of engagements he undertook.
As reported by , the 76-year-old King took part in 329 UK engagements and 43 overseas engagements in 2024, an impressive figure considering his health struggles.
This meant he was ranked as the second royal who attended the most engagements, with Princess Anne coming in first place.

The King’s sister, 74, did an impressive 395 engagements in the UK, along with 79 official engagements overseas.
Despite the fact the King is continuing cancer treatment this year, the monarch seems set on doing as much as he can.
After doing one it was confirmed by the Palace that Charles if he is given the go-ahead by doctors.
A Palace source said at the time: “We’re now working on a pretty normal looking full overseas tour program for next year, which is a high for us to end on, to know that we can be thinking in those terms – subject to sign off by doctors.”

They continued: “It is hard to overstate the joy that he takes from duty and service and being in public and seeing those crowds engaging with communities across the spectrum.
“That really does lift the spirits. You can see that.”
Another royal hoping to complete more engagements this year than last is Princess Kate, 42, who had to step away from royal duty in 2024 after also being diagnosed with cancer.
Since , the future Queen has begun a gradual return to work as she continues her recovery, which is set to continue this year.
