ITV’s Rob Rinder unveils famous family member and says ‘so proud’

’s star revealed his surprising connection to a rising footballer. 

The TV star took to his story to praise his young relative, who currently plays on the Barnet Football Team.

Rob shared a post from their official account that listed their starting line-up players who will face Altrincham FC.

The barrister beamed as he announced: “Max Rinder debut for the first team.”

Rob declared he was a “proud uncle,” as he looked to the future and added: “Next stop [England flag].”

The teenager currently plays in the National League U19 Alliance for Barnet Football Club and has proved to be a talented athlete.

According to The FA, Max has made 10 match appearances, started nine games and scored an impressive eight goals.

This comes as a rare admission from Rob who usually keeps the details of his core family life private.

He previously spoke about his family’s Holocaust story and shared heartbreaking accounts of surviving the Nazis.

Rob has also as well as his loved ones’ reactions to his sexuality after coming out in 2001.

“I was 22 when I decided it was time to tell people, I was partially motivated by not wanting to live a lie – a need to live honestly – and partially because I had fallen in love, albeit unrequitedly.”

Speaking to , he said it was a “soft process”, starting by telling his mum: “Like I expected, it was received with openness, kindness and unconditional love.”

Sharing his brother’s hilarious response, Rob recalled: “My brother [told] me, very genuinely, ‘I don’t care what you are, as long as you don’t support Arsenal.’”
