Ralf Schumacher, brother of seven-time world champion , has claimed that will never match the legend when it comes to offering feedback to engineers. The German racer also believes that this verdict echoes the feelings of chief .
Hamilton seeks to emulate Schumacher and bring glory back to the Scuderia in 2025 after officially becoming a driver on New Year’s Day. However, with the likes of and aiming for the crown and Charles Leclerc alongside him, the Brit is in for a baptism of fire.
Achieving an eighth World Championship would see him stand alone at the top in the record books, but for now, Hamilton and Schumacher are tied on seven Drivers’ Championship crowns. According to Ralf, though, his brother has a slight edge.
“The biggest difference is that Michael, among many other qualities, was able to work with the engineers to develop a car that suited his driving style perfectly. Lewis can’t,” the former Williams driver told German outlet Sport1.de.
“He has never been able to do that, if you listen carefully to what the engineers say. stressed more than once that a driver has to accelerate and that the engineers have to develop. But he also said that because apparently, his drivers were not able to give the right input.”
The 49-year-old predicts a rough ride for Hamilton during his first season as a driver. “Michael was very different,” he continued. “He always gave direction to his confidants like Ross Brawn or Jean Todt.

“That makes it even more difficult for Lewis because Charles Leclerc is the top dog. Everyone in the team knows him. For Lewis, everything is new at . Moreover, Michael came to as the current world champion, and he was much younger. That is not the case with Lewis.”
While Schumacher’s opinions have been echoed by plenty of other pundits in the F1 paddock, Hamilton is laser-focused on his upcoming campaign. “I could not be more excited for the year ahead,” he posted on LinkedIn.
