Meghan Markle shows ‘true colours’ in Netflix show as she finds ‘sweet spot’

The Duchess of Sussex has filmed eight 30-minute episodes of her new lifestyle show, which will see her share recipes, try bee keeping and shop for flowers. The programme is billed as blending “practical how-tos and candid conversation”, and stars her former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer.

But according to body language expert Judi James, Meghan’s true colours are on display just from the trailer, which she shared to her with the caption: “I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it.”

Judi has explained: “Everything about Meghan’s communicated signals here shriek ‘love’.

“Food preparation and supplying is historically linked to an expression of love and Meghan is seen feeding friends who then even self-upgrade to the role of ‘family’, suggesting her series will be an expression of popularity and bonding techniques.

“Meghan dances, giggles and high-fives to emphasise emotional bonding and she even dips her head coyly as she is hugged by , who is beaming wide with contented pride to see his wife in a more historically traditional wifely role, swapping designer gear for a large and functional-looking apron.

“Meghan’s prime messaging here seems to be to show how she is surrounded by love and support. Even the dog joins in with some happy-sounding snores. It’s a display of contentment from a woman who has long been troubled, as though after all her feminism and her campaigning and her misery surrounding her time in the , she has finally found her sweet spot via a variety of sweet treats.”

It’s the Sussexes’ latest attempt at a TV comeback, after her husband Harry dropped The Me You Can’t See on along with , who interviewed the royal couple in a bombshell TV slot.

But Meghan hasn’t acted in anything since she left Suits in 2018, holding the role of Rachel Zane for 108 episodes of the legal drama.
