have been issued across 137 areas of the UK from 12pm Saturday 4 to 12pm Monday 6.
Snow and ice are expected across England and Wales, with up to 40cm of the white stuff covering some parts. Strengthening winds could worsen the conditions, with lying snow drifting.
The warnings note that the weather could cause affecting other services such as mobile phone coverage.
Some rural communities could also become cut off, and icy surfaces could pose a danger for injuries.
The also reports a “chance of on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel”.
