Wayne Osmond’s tragic health battles before death which destroyed music career

His family confirmed his death with a moving statement which read: “Wayne Osmond, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully last night surrounded by his loving wife and five children. 

“His legacy of faith, music, love, and laughter have influenced the lives of many people around the world.

“He would want everyone to know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true, that families are forever, and that banana splits are the best dessert.

“We love him and will miss him dearly,” they added to ‘s Utah news station, KTVX.

Although his cause of death is yet to be confirmed, the singer battled a number of health battles throughout his life. 

Osmond’s health took a devastating turn while touring with his brothers in 1997, he previously recalled: “One day when I was working in Branson, I noticed I couldn’t play my saxophone anymore because my head would start throbbing.” 

He told : “My knees would fall out from under me when I was on stage. This all began happening within a week.”

The singer was also a cancer survivor after being diagnosed with ependymoma, “a childhood cancer that is very fatal for kids,” and underwent a 17-hour surgery to remove a brain tumour before returning to the stage six months later.

While Osmond became known for his background vocals, he was also proficient across multiple instruments but was forced to retire after suffering from hearing issues. 

In 1997, after his cancer diagnosis, the brain tumour was successfully treated, but this damaged his cochlea and left him nearly deaf. 

However, it was a stroke in 2012 which left him unable to play guitar and ultimately ending his musical career. 

Osmond is survived by his wife Kathlyn White, their five children and his siblings Virl, Tom, Alan, Merrill, Jay, Donny, Marie, and Jimmy.
