Launching in January 2025, the Renault 5 E-Tech brings the popular 70s model into the electric age
Renault 5 E-Tech:
Similar to the Fiat Grande Panda, the Renault 5 E-Tech is a particularly eye-catching electric hatchback that was styled after the original 5, first seen in 1972.
Offering slightly cleaner styling, not to mention a pallette of vibrant colours, the 5 aims to be slightly more upmarket compared to rivals like the Peugeot E-208, but will still be available from a very reasonable price of £22,995.
Despite being a little tight in the back for adults, a range of nearly 250 miles makes the Renault 5 E-Tech a rather practical choice for young families, with the sporty Alpine A290 set to bring 174bhp to the model.
Adding to the Ford Puma range, the Gen-E will be capable of covering up to 234 miles per charge
Ford Puma Gen-E:
Drivers looking for a slightly larger new model launching in 2025 may also be interested in the latest version of the popular Ford Puma, which now features an electric powertrain.

Despite being notably heavier than the petrol version, the Ford Puma Gen-E will cover 234 miles per charge and still features a particularly useful 574-litre boot and 43-litre frunk. Prices start at £29,995, which is around £4,000 more than the standard model.

The Dacia Bigster is a substantial SUV that is set to be priced from under £20,000
Dacia Bigster:
Whilst the majority of new models due to launch in 2025 are fully-electric, many motorists are currently happy to stick with petrol. One of the most awaited petrol cars launching in the year is the Dacia Bigster – the biggest SUV made by the Romanian brand to date.
Based on the latest version of the popular Duster, the Bigster features plenty of rugged and muscular styling features, not to mention wheel arches and bumper trim made from a sustainable material called ‘Starkle’.
Featuring a 667-litre boot and plenty of legroom for front and rear occupants alike, the Bigster’s biggest selling point will be its starting price of under £20,000 – about £8,000 less than rivals from Kia and Nissan.
Replacing the Tiguan Allspace, the Volkswagen Tayron has seven seats and three kinds of powertrain
Volkswagen Tayron:
Finally, Brits looking for a new model that will impress the neighbours in 2025 will be interested to hear about the Volkswagen Tayron – the German brand’s flagship SUV.
Carrying a number of styling features over from the Tiguan, such as the monobrow-like LED light bar, the Tayron will give buyers the choice of five or seven seats, plus a range of petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid powertrains.
The Volkswagen Tayron is set to go on sale in early 2025, with prices set to start at about £38,000 for the entry-level Life model. As a result, Volkswagen’s new seven-seater should slightly undercut rivals like the Kia Sorento and Hyundai Santa Fe.
