has hit back at after the snooker star appeared to throw a nine-darter in his garage. Footage shared on social media by Paddy Power shows Murphy in a mirror as darts fly towards the board.

Humphries and Murphy have a long-running argument over whether a snooker 147 or a nine-darter is harder to achieve. The Magician has claimed that he is the only person in the world to score a 147, throw a nine-darter, and hit a hole-in-one in golf.

Murphy has now been shown appearing to throw a nine-darter at his home. However, not everyone is actually convinced that he achieved it himself.

Humphries sarcastically responded: “And I’ll make a 147 next week.”

His post included a side-eye and a sighing emoji. It remains to be seen if the 29-year-old will attempt a 147.

Humphries’ comment comes weeks after he argued with Murphy at a promotional event over whether a 147 or a nine-darter was harder. The darts star lined up alongside Michael van Gerwen while Murphy played with fellow snooker ace Mark Williams.

: “I think if you’re an amateur [and] you don’t play snooker, you don’t play golf, you don’t play darts… you give them a snooker cue, some darts and a golf club. I think they’d do the hole-in-one first, the nine-darter second and then the 147 last,” Humphries said.

“I think that would be harder. But to a professional, I think a nine-darter is harder than a 147.”

Murphy and Williams – who were attempting to play a 147 next to them – both burst into laughter. “I didn’t know you were a comedian too,” Murphy shouted as Van Gerwen immediately snapped: “No one was joking!”

Humphries continued: “What’s funny about that? Did you hear what I said though? When you know all the angles… You’ve seen you two – Mark’s come close already! That’s my opinion when you’re a professional you make it look easy to hit a 147.

“Stats show it too. In frames and legs of darts there are more 147s than nine-darters.”

Humphries might have felt his point was proven when Murphy bagged a 147 20 minutes later.

The Leeds-born star will not retain his World Darts Championship title this week after being dumped out by Peter Wright in the fourth round. The semi-finals will be played tonight (Thursday) ahead of Friday’s final.
