The Jackery Explorer 300 is one device that many avid campers, survivalists and emergency preppers all swear by for running vital appliances and juicing up all their essential devices when regular power sources are not available.

Currently on sale at Amazon for an impressive 35% off (nearly $100 off!), this gas-free portable power station, which has even been on the must-have lists of our own HuffPost editors, uses a 293Wh lithium ion battery pack to offer a safe and steady supply of energy to everything from laptops to fans.

HuffPost Shopping writer Griffin Wynnecalled their own Jackery “my greatest asset” and uses it to power up their griddle on camping trips or keep the fan going during rolling summer blackouts.

Featuring two AC outlets, a USB-C and two USB-A ports, this Jackery model can charge up to six devices at once and takes only two hours to recharge 80% of its battery power, which can be done using a regular AC adapter, your car outlet or even with solar panels (sold separately).

Thanks to its perfectly compact and handled design, this device can be easily stored in your car, packed along with camping gear or kept safe in the event of a power outage.

Even if you’re not an outdoors person or emergency preparedness enthusiast, you might find it useful to invest in this potentially lifesaving tool while it’s discounted. But, if you need more convincing, see why others are happy they made the Jackery purchase below.

I’d have to say. This thing is being used a lot more than I intended. From camping trips to daily use at work. I am a construction worker(electrician) . So often times, believe it or not. We work with no electricity. Since we turn everything off to be safe. So this little thing can power anything from a portable clip on lamps to a small fan to help light up and cool down hot electric rooms. The job I am on right now is a ground up job. Meaning it’s nothing but dirt. All the old power we ripped out. So the only power on site are the spider boxes(corded power) connected to the utility. They’re not convenient what so ever. […] I use this to charge stuff daily like my radio and head lamp at the end of the day. Saves me from hauling my tool cart which is a solid 80 pounds over ruff terrain just to get to a power box. And with only 1 microwave for 20 guys at 2 minutes each. It’s almost pointless in waiting to heat up your food. So this little jackery is wonderful. I can plug in my 12v food warmer and get nice hot food prior to start of lunch.!!!! I am able to charge my ear buds daily. […]” — Dirk (This review has been edited for length. Read the full review.)

“I was very, very skeptical about these at first — and I was raised to be able to do whatever I needed to do in the wilds if it came to that. Personal experiences made me very antsy about being able to keep going even when things are at their worst. I decided to stay adaptable and so I picked up a unit and 100w solar panel. The timing was rather great, as I had a power outage right after. I get a lot of sun here, and was able to charge one up in about 4 to 5 hours. I liked it so much I bought another. Then I bought the 500, and still don’t like it very much, so picked up a third 300 and now I run my internet off one while charging devices on a second and then using my laptop with a third while the spare charges. I absolutely love these.

The 300 is super portable, even for my 60 year old or so self, and they charge super fast. They are really quiet, too — even when the fan comes on, it is short, and very soft. The quality of the units is really great — very sturdy. I would suggest a cover for them if you go to places where it rains a lot or is very, very dusty though. Their capacity is great — my cable modem and WiFi last an entire day and night on one — turn it off, and you can get two days out of it! The solar panel is great — I get 70 w pretty consistently out of it, and on the 500 it is much slower at 50 watts. I did get a second panel, but not by the same folks, so I can keep up with charging.” — Dyssonance

This is a game changer. I got it right before hurricane Milton passed. It came at a good time. So easy to use. Itbkeep a charge for longe time too. I now feel so much better knowing I have some power to light my house in use small appliances, or radio even kept the fan going. Price is good too. Easy to store. You just plug up and good to go. Happy I have this Jackery.” — Rene Brown

“Have had this for 2 years now, I bought it to power my CPAP when camping or touring on the motorcycle across the states. Will power my CPAP for 3 nights before needing charged. When on the motorcycle, I carry it in the saddlebag that has a 12V outlet and it charges during the day as I ride. When using it in the camper when we are boondocking, I charge it off the 12VDC battery as we travel to the next site. Will easily power my CPAP and charge phones for several nights. Very happy with it. Has worked flawlessly on about 6 trips over the last 2 years.” — Kevin Maki
