British are a creative bunch, with some personalised licence plates on having the capacity to trigger a chuckle from fellow motorists and pedestrians.
Others are a bit baffling, and observers can be left confused as to what is trying to be said with a particular combination of letters and numbers.
The clamps down on proposals that the agency judges deem to be too rude, as some request plates that would cross the line, as it sees it.
Some can also allude to sensitive subjects such as , racism, or religion.
The full list of combinations that officials will not allow in 2025 has been released.

The DVLA also says that you can’t make the vehicle look newer than it actually is with a personalised plate.
For example, you can’t put an 07 registration number onto a 2003 registered vehicle.
You also can’t put a registration number onto a Q or QNI registered vehicle.
Drivers can buy a registration plate at an auction. The next one will run from January 8 until January 14.
