A brand new fast food chain has opened in the UK and some customers think it “beats and “.
Fat Phill’s has opened its first restaurant in Clapham Junction, south London, and it promises to rival the established brands.
The restaurant opened its doors at the end of last year – its 20th opening in five years.
The brand, which one blogger previously said “beats McDonald’s and KFC”, hails from the Netherlands, with sites across the country. As well as burgers and fries, it sells traditional food from the Low Countries.
Punters can get tater tots, hot chicken sandwiches as well as stroopwafel shakes, based on the classic Dutch desert.

There’s been a host of Google reviews since the restaurant opened. One reviewer wrote: “Fantastic food! We tried the meaty burger, the Nashville fried chicken burger, loaded fries and mozzarella sticks.
“All amazing. Deffo recommend checking this place out if you need some fried goodness!”
Another wrote of the offerings: “Fantastic burger, today I tried the Hot Tamale burger with extra bacon and a fried egg!
“The seasoned fries were spot on to. Great quality beef!”

While a third said: “Delicious burgers, the flavor of the meat is unique, everything is very fresh and super smashed.
“The quality and quantity are excellent. Fat Phill’s is here to stay in London. Everyone is very friendly.”
The chain opened its first branch in Amsterdam in 2019 before quickly growing to run 19 locations across the Netherlands.
