Gavin and Stacey: A Fond Farewell sent shockwaves through its fanbase with fresh footage of Uncle Bryn and Jason’s mysterious fishing trip.

The hour-long special included the cast, led by and Ruth Jones, who reflected on their 17-year journey since first aired in 2007.

In a shocking final moment during the closing credits, the undisclosed fishing escapade was finally glimpsed. The scene featured Bryn welcoming Jason, with the intriguing line: “Who do we have here?”

With his typical wit, Bryn remarked: “No one will go hungry in this camp tonight.”

“Enjoy your soup!” he concluded, just before the screen cut to black. Viewers of the show expressed their excitement on social media after being treated to rhe unexpected footage.

Speaking about the decision to finally bring their characters together, Ruth, 58, explained: “We know that there’s this connection, from day one when she handed him the pizza, and this love/hate relationship that produced a child is finally getting this pay-off. Which I think is what everybody wants.”
