BBC fans issue same complaint about ‘silly’ plotline in SAS Rogue Heroes

BBC fans who tuned into the latest instalment of issued the same complaint, labelling one particular plotline to be ‘stupid’.

The programme documents the story of the original SAS, with Connor Swindells returning as Lt Col David Stirling and Jack O’Connell playing Major Paddy Mayne. In a nutshell – it’s all guns, death and plenty of punch-ups.

During one moment in the second episode, we see David recieving a visit from an Italian nun whilst he remains a prisoner of war. However, it turns out to be the British spy Eve Mansour.

The pair originally formed a romance in the first season before David was captured. However, the scene didn’t impress some viewers who took to social media to complain.

A second also chimed in: “The first series was great. It’s just got silly now .”

Despite this, many fans of the show united in agreed over the show’s choice of soundtracks. One person commented: “They know how to pick the tunes ! Sham 69 if the kids are united .”

Another agreed: ” S2 of SAS Rogue Heroes has continued with having an anachronistic largely punk/new wave soundtrack and I don’t know why it works but it seems to.”

Season Two is filmed in Croatia and picks up exactly after the events of David’s capture.

Prior to the second season airing, Connor Swindells revealed that he was originally not supposed to be in the second season of .

Speaking exclusively to Express Online and other media outlets, the star opened up about returning to the popular historical drama after a two-year wait.

Speaking about the show, he said: “I was absolutely delighted to come back, but I was only ever meant to do the first season.

“So, when [producer] Steven Knight delivered episode one and there I was page 59, and I got a call from the wonderful Stephen Smallwood asking what I was doing in the summer…I was truly delighted.”
