Max George of has spoken out about his recent health scare, admitting he requires a return to hospital due to an unusual “flicking feeling” in his chest after undergoing heart surgery.
The pop star was back home for the festive season following a procedure to insert a pacemaker in a lengthy two-and-a-half-hour operation to tackle his 2:1 heart block issue.
Sharing concerns with his social media followers on this past Monday, 36 year old George conveyed his uncertainty and said, “I’m getting the feeling in my chest and ‘the doctors aren’t too sure’ why.”
Seeking insights and words of comfort from those who have experienced similar procedures, he continued, “I’m in the hospital tomorrow for another check-up because I’ve been getting this ‘flicking’ feeling in the left-hand side of my chest. I’m actually getting it now.”
Expressing optimism that it might be a minor irritation, he mused, “Hopefully it’s maybe a nerve touching it and it’ll go away in time, or maybe they may have to move the wires slightly.”

Conceding to his need for more knowledge regarding the unexpected turn of events concerning his pacemaker, he stated, “I’m all ears because all I’m doing at the moment is research because I know nothing about pacemakers. This came completely out of the blue.”
He added, extending an invitation for advice, “Any information I can get would be much appreciated.”
George also shared a heartwarming update in a video posted on the night before Christmas, sharing the joy of anticipating the arrival of his partner, the talented Maisie Smith, bestowing it as “the best present ever”.
In a touching recount of their relationship, George spoke of meeting ex- actress Maisie Smith, aged 23, during their stint on back in 2020. However, the pair made it clear that sparks flew and romance blossomed only in 2022.
Maisie is dazzling audiences in a pantomime rendition of Beauty And The Beast at Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre, Kent. She graced the stage on Christmas Eve and is set to enchant again on Boxing Day afternoon.
In a separate video from his hospital bed, George admitted he felt “knackered” but reassured fans that his “numbers are way better”.
He shared: “Few more tests to do over the next couple of weeks, something to do with my lungs, but that’s the least of my worries right now.”
Despite the ordeal, he remained upbeat, concluding with “All good, bit battered and bruised and knackered, but…” as he optimistically gave a thumbs up to the camera.
