Japandi design will be a major trend
Matthew Currington, technical director of , has unveiled the highly anticipated trends of 2025.
Collating real-time search data, Mr Currington has identified the four trends that are rapidly gaining traction.
One of the most popular trends, predicted to be a big hit in 2025, is integrated AI-led smart lighting in the home.
Mr Currington elaborated: “In 2025, we can expect lighting systems that predict and optimise schedules to match daily habits.”
Walking into the future, AI lighting will “minimise energy waste by responding to natural light levels”.

Turkish lamps will be a big feature in 2025
AI-lighting is said to “enhance well-being and productivity by aligning with our circadian rhythms”.
Smart lighting devices will require apps or hubs to function, but they’re set to revolutionise the way homes are lit.
In terms of aesthetics, Japanese and Scandinavian designs will be front and centre in 2025.
Mr Currington said these aesthetics would merge to create “Japandi” – an infusion of the natural world and the beauty of imperfection.
Ambient lighting is an everlasting trend
Muted tones and organic shapes will be highly fashionable, especially items that are hand-crafted and boast irregular finishes.
Quirky wireless lamps will also be a prominent fixture in the most up-to-date homes. Turkish lamps, in particular, are gaining popularity, especially because light dazzles beautifully through the mosaic-like glass.
Even wireless tulip-shaped lamps are predicted to be popping up in stores all over to ass “personality and charm” to any home.
An everlasting trend that will continue to be in the most stylish homes in 2025 is ambient lighting.
“Clever layered lighting techniques”, including lamps, wall scones and dimmable lights, will forever make a home feel cosy, warm and inviting.
