The country with the best cuisine in the world has been named – it’s not Italy or India

Many people often go on based on a country’s . Whether it is enjoying cheese and wine in France, tapas in Spain or some delicious pasta in Italy.

There are endless choices when it comes to food and what countries have to offer.

While some countries are famous for certain dishes, such as the and its renowned fish and chips, some destinations are better than others when it comes to food.

Sadly, British food didn’t make it into the top 30 and instead reached 48th on the list. But now new research has found which country has the most delicious cuisine.

This is according to who analysed 477,287 ratings for 15,478 foods in their database to determine the results.

Surprisingly, Italian, French or Spanish cuisine didn’t make the top spot.

Greece is the nation with the best ratings, with the study finding 477,287 ratings out of 15,478 foods in its database.

National dishes including stifado (beef stew), moussaka (layers of potato, aubergine and mince) and dolma (stuffed vine leaves) are just some of the Greek dishes originating from the country.

And, of course, how can we not forget classics like gyros, tzatziki and Greek salad?

In second place was Italian food, with pizza, risotto, tiramisu, bruschetta, panna cotta, and nougat being some of the homegrown foods from the country.

Third place was Mexico, where tacos, nachos, tortillas, burritos, guacamole, and quesadillas are national dishes.
