Logan Paul suffered a rather embarrassing setback after his online poll about fighting didn’t go as he’d hoped.

Reports earlier this month indicated the McGregor was negotiating a fight against Jake Paul’s elder brother. The former UFC champion hit social media to clarify: “The rumours of a bout with Topuria are false. I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon.”

It appears that India’s wealthy Ambani family is orchestrating McGregor’s comeback, which could involve one of the Paul siblings. McGregor has increased speculation about a showdown with Paul with yet another online teaser. A tweet and report from Fightbook MMA referenced a potential duel between McGregor and Logan, a contest that might generate a colossal $250million for each combatant with Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai being the proposed venue. While fans should maintain a pinch of scepticism, ‘The Notorious’ reciprocated to the story on X complete with an Indian flag and a heart emoji.

As speculation mounts over a possible high-profile encounter, Logan took to his social networks to query his followers on the outcome of a match-up with McGregor. Anticipating widespread backing from his fanbase, the WWE icon found his survey spectacularly misfiring.

In a recent poll, American boxer Logan Paul asked his followers who they thought would win in a potential fight between him and UFC legend Conor McGregor. Surprisingly, 63 per cent of respondents backed McGregor, leaving only 37 per cent in favour of Paul. The Irishman hasn’t stepped into the ring since his defeat to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021. He was set to make a comeback against Michael Chandler earlier this year, but had to withdraw from the UFC 303 clash due to injury.

Meanwhile, Paul’s younger brother Jake has also been linked with a bout against McGregor. In a post on X – formerly known as Twitter – Jake revealed that any potential fight would only happen if Dana White and the UFC were directly involved.

“Now it all makes sense why Conor McGregor and his management team have been desperately trying to get MVP to negotiate for a fight between us,” he wrote. “As we told them privately and I’m now saying it publicly…the only way we’re willing to explore me vs Conor in a pro boxing / MMA fight is if Dana White / UFC are at the table directly or make it clear they are ok with discussions. Conor is washed. Needs the Paul’s. Logan by however he wants.”
