Police have cordoned off multiple streets in Liverpool city centre following an incident this evening.
A cordon is in place outside the Metquarter on Whitechapel this evening and a large police presence is in place, reported the .
A section of Button Street towards the Cavern Quarter is also sealed off, along with part of Williamson Street.
A cordon is also in place on Leigh Street.
Echo reporter Emily Carubia reported a “huge police presence” in the city centre, with video footage showing numerous vehicles and what was described as “a pile of what looks like bloodied tissues and a coat are on the floor outside Mobile Hub”.

Tesco Express, the Metquarter and the Everyman Cinema are all located within the cordon.
Merseyside Police’s force incident manager confirmed officers were called to the scene at around 6.40pm today, after reports that a “male had been assaulted”.
A police helicopter is also reportedly hovering overhead.
