Gal Gadot reveals ‘terrifying’ story of ‘massive blood clot’ in her brain while pregnant with 4th child

It’s no surprise that “Wonder Woman” Gal Gadot is a superhero mom.

The actor, who welcomed her fourth baby girl early this year, first hinted that she had medical issues in an Instagram post after her baby’s birth on March 6, 2024. At the time, she wrote, “My sweet girl, welcome. The pregnancy was not easy, but we made it through.”

On a Dec. 29 Instagram post, Gadot revealed the “profound challenges” she faced at the time of her daughter’s birth.

“In February, during my eighth month of pregnancy, I was diagnosed with a massive blood clot in my brain,” she wrote in an Instagram caption along with a photo of her and her infant in the hospital. “For weeks, I had endured excruciating headaches that confined me to bed, until I finally underwent an MRI that revealed the terrifying truth.”

Gadot continued on to share that she was rushed to the hospital to undergo emergency surgery. “My daughter, Ori, was born during that moment of uncertainty and fear,” she wrote.

The actor revealed that she intentionally chose her daughter’s name because Ori means “my light.”

She wrote, referring to her husband, “Before the surgery, I told Jaron that when our daughter arrived, she would be the light waiting for me at the end of this tunnel.”

Now “fully healed and filled with gratitude” for the life she has been “given back,” Gadot urged anyone reading to listen to and trust their bodies: “Pain, discomfort, or even subtle changes often carry deeper meaning, and being attuned to your body can be life saving.”

She also wanted to raise awareness about the possibility of developing a blood clot during pregnancy.
