Easy air fryer leftover panettone French toast recipe only takes 10 minutes to cook

Many people across the country tend to spend a little more at on and drink. However, the only problem is leftovers.

Thankfully, this leftover will do the trick of using up any extra panettone. However, for those who have no panettone at hand, brioche bread works just as well.

The food dish comes from local company , who shared their leftover panettone with black cherries .

This makes four and is easy to make with a preparation and cooking time of 10 minutes.

Even better it is vegetarian and can be served with Greek yoghurt for a lighter dish.

How to make air fryer panettone French toast recipe: 

Ingredients: 

For the French toast: 

  • Two eggs
  • 150ml single cream
  • One tsp. vanilla essence
  • One tbsp. caster sugar
  • 25g unsalted butter
  • Two large slices of Panettone, 2cm thick slices cut into four triangles
  • Icing sugar to dust
  • 150g double cream

For the compote: 

  • 100g black Cherries and reserved syrup
  • 100g fresh raspberries
  • 100g fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced

Method:

Firstly, make the cherry compote: combine the black cherries with four teaspoons of syrup, raspberries and strawberries in a bowl, set to one side.

Next, in a small mixing bowl whisk together the eggs, cream, vanilla essence and sugar.Add the panettone slices, one at a time and soak for 10 seconds, flip and soak the other side. Repeat until all the bread is cooked.

Grease the air fryer basket and place the panettone slices in a single layer. Air fry at 180°C for five to seven minutes, flipping halfway.

Keep cooking at minute intervals until the desired golden brown is achieved. Beat the double cream until thickened and serve immediately with the berry compote spooned over each slice and dusted with icing sugar.
