A beach in has been listed as one of the best in Europe for 2025 thanks to its being “picture perfect”.
Vitali Beach on the island of Andros is “a local’s haven” and “blissfully” free of tourists, according to ‘s list.
While it isn’t a sandy beach, Vitali has “impossibly” blue water and an “endless” view which is “undisturbed”, according to the same publication.
The beach is on the north eastern side of Andros, about 22 miles (35km) from Chora and nine miles (15km) from Gavrio.
It is a secluded beach which offers privacy as well as peace and quiet.

There is a road from Gavrio leading to Vitali but nearly half the route is track and narrow so a motorbike or jeep is recommended to get there.

Vitali Beach is also an ideal place to practise diving and to visit during a windy day as it’s not sandy, but made of pebbles.

Nevertheless, Vitali Beach is “worth the effort” and a “must-visit” for any trip to the island, the same publication says.
The closest airport to Andros is Athens International. From there it is a 30 minute bus ride to Rafina from where you can take a ferry to the island.
