This in the south of England is perfect for taking a winter walk and for exploring its historic streets.

Rye is a in East Sussex, it has cobblestone streets and well-preserved Tudor architecture which is fascinating to admire as you wander around.

You’ll find the town at the top of a hill, it is surrounded by defensive walls – a sign of its past.

From the top, you can enjoy incredible views of the surrounding countryside and the town.

Ypres Tower is one of Rye’s oldest buildings, built in the 14th century to protect the town from invaders. 

You should also aim to see Camber Castle and St Mary’s Church, which dates back to 1020 AD.

It is home to colourful houses, Georgian and Tudor buildings and its postcard-perfect to see in real life.

Rye is surrounded by where you can find a variety of walking and cycling trails if you’re seeking adventure in the colder months.

Taking a walk along the beach at Camber Sands is a must-do, it is just over 10 minutes away by car and you won’t be disappointed.
