New skyscrapers are being built in some of Africa’s biggest cities, including one project in the Ivory Coast that could see the continent’s tallest skyscraper built.

Currently under construction, Tower F is located in Ivory Coast’s biggest city, Abidjan.

It was designed by Lebanese-Ivorian architect Pierre Fakhoury and is being developed by PFO Africa for the country’s government.

When complete, the Tower F will become Africa’s tallest tower, standing at over 400 metres.

The budget for the project is a huge £300million, according to French news outlet Le Monde.

Tower F is one of many infrastructure projects being undertaken in Abidjan.

The city opened the Alassane Ouattara Bridge in 2023. It is 630 metres long, and the design resembles the shape of a long kora, a musical instrument synonymous with West Africa.

Tower F sparked a lot of reaction on social media.

One user said it is “like an unusual One World Trade Centre. Interesting.”

Another commenter said: “I like the shape. Very unique.”

The tallest tower in Africa currently i a new city that will have business and diplomatic centres.

The tower is 400-metres high (1,300ft) with 77 floors.
