King Charles accompanied by senior royal as he steps out for first time since Christmas

was accompanied by his sister Princess Anne today as he stepped out in public for the first time since Christmas Day.

The monarch, 76, and the Princess Royal, 74, were greeted by well-wishers as they made their way from Sandringham House to St Mary Magdalene church in Sandringham for the Sunday church service this morning.

As they walked to the service, the King and his sister appeared to be in good spirits as they both wrapped up warm from the cold, with Charles wearing a thick winter coat and tailored trousers.

Princess Anne wore her staple red scarf along with a tartan skirt and jacket co-ord.

The princess, who also wore a beanie hat, was accompanied by her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

Queen Camilla was not pictured alongside the King as he headed in for the morning service.

The sighting of the monarch is the first sighting of King Charles since he hosted Christmas on Wednesday alongside Queen Camilla for around 45 members of the Royal Family.

Before today, he was last seen on the , accompanied by a number of royals including his eldest son , daughter-in-law Princess Kate, and grandchildren Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, nine, and Prince Louis, six.

A pregnant was also alongside her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and stepson Wolfie.

Her father was not part of the celebrations this year surrounding his friendship with a Chinese businessman, who is now believed to be a suspected spy.

The Duke of York confirmed he ceased contact with businessman Yang Tengbo – who denies the claims he is a spy – when concerns were first raised, however still decided not to attend Christmas at Sandringham to stay out of the spotlight.
