Furniture and home expert at , Sam Deeble, focused his attention on the dining area.

In 2025 “mix-and-match aesthetic” takes centre stage as Deeble said matching dining tables and chairs are out of style.

Embracing contrasting materials and styles can lead to a “visually appealing dining area”.

One such dichotomy could be the fusion of a modern-style table with more traditional seating.

“Incorporating modern and vintage elements into a dining space will grow in popularity in 2025,” Deeble predicted.

“This design creates a stylish, eclectic look that has a timeless appeal,” said Deeble.

“Despite this being a 2025 must-have, following this trend is a great way to achieve a dining area that withstands the test of time.”

Maximalism is another “prominent” interior design trend that will continue into 2025.

“Embrace colours and patterns,” Deeble suggested. “This trend can be incorporated using decor pieces for a subtle effect or introduce colour using furniture, floor, and walls for a bolder finish.”

Sustainable materials are also forecast to be a big home interiors trend for 2025; examples include stone, glass, bamboo, and wood.

As ever, statement lighting will continue to be an important design element. “Lighting can significantly influence a room’s appearance and add depth to a space,” said Deeble.

“A pendant light is perfect for illuminating a dining table, highlighting it as the room’s focal point.”

Smart technology will also be a feature in 2025, such as app-operated sound systems to voice-activated lighting.

Utilising the “fifth wall” – i.e. the ceiling – will also be a big hit for 2025 as people may lean towards coating the ceiling with a “tasteful hue, patterned wallpaper, and statement lighting”.
