‘s Charlotte Smith has humorously suggested she’s not cut out for the glitz and glamour of , despite her previous dance efforts for Children In Need. The beloved presenter and her Countryfile colleagues, including Matt Baker, John Craven, Anita Rani, and Margherita Taylor, have just completed a charity ramble across the UK, raising a staggering £12.5 million for the charity to date.

Charlotte, who has previously participated in a song and dance routine for the annual live charity telethon, shared a laugh with the Daily Star about her potential future on Strictly. She quipped: “I spend my life in the rain, in wellies, and they took me to the Children In Need studio. It’s amazing.”

She continued, reflecting on her past experience: “They had people to do our hair, our costumes, but we had to dance and sing – and I don’t really do either of those things. I’ve never watched it.”

Charlotte admitted to being blissfully unaware of how her performance might have been perceived, saying: “So I’m in absolute blissful ignorance to how bad it was. The family said, ‘yeah it was fine’, and then looked at the floor. I suspect it wasn’t brilliant.”

When asked if she’d consider following in the footsteps of fellow presenters like Matt Baker, Hamza Yassin, and Helen Skelton on Strictly, Charlotte responded with a chuckle: “I think if they ever watched that, they wouldn’t let me anywhere near it.”

“Of course, I’m one of those people who watch Strictly and I’m pretty sure I could last until week one.”

Charlotte was full of admiration for her Countryfile colleague Matt Baker, who is not only joining the ramble but also embarking on his Rickshaw challenge once more for Children In Need, supporting youngsters helped by the charity. She enthused: “The man is amazing. His Rickshaw challenge is incredible. That’s the only word for it.”

“I went on a very gentle ramble in West Yorkshire, absolutely gorgeous. He grinds out miles and miles and miles on that rickshaw, and if you ever see Matt working with kids, he’s just really natural. He’s really good with kids, and he loves it.”

“Matt Baker is a level of fitness that I could only aspire to. He’s incredible.”
