Princess Kate is ahead of the biggest fashion trends of 2025 – but you may already have it
Many people from around the globe look at the as a fashion icon and she certainly has followed in the footsteps of her mother-in-law, the late The 42-year-old, who is at the core of the is said to be already ahead of one of the biggest trends next year.
It has been said that 2025 will be the year of the peplum as experts have predicted it will hit the high streets in the coming months. However, Kate already has a series of different ensembles in her wardrobe that she no doubt will re-wear.
Peplum was a huge hit in 2010, so maybe you already even have some in your closet too.
The design features on short, ruffled fabric that extends from the waistline of a garment to create an hourglass figure. It has been incorporated in many dresses and tops over the years which have even hit the runway.
We caught up with fashion stylist Ciara Russell who has worked with some of the UK’s leading brands and celebrities. She told us that the style is inclusive of many shapes and sizes and it is not surprising that “designers are reimagining it with a modern twist.”

Ciara exclusively told the Express.co.uk: “Peplum is making a comeback because it’s a flattering style that highlights the waist and creates a feminine shape.
“It has a timeless appeal, but designers are reimagining it with a modern twist, making it feel fresh and versatile for today’s fashion.”
Before adding: “Whether it’s a structured jacket or a softer dress, peplum adds a stylish touch that works for a variety of occasions, which is why it’s becoming popular again.”
Another key feature is that over time many jackets and dresses have boasted wide shoulders. The expert continued: “Peplum dresses are versatile and can be styled to suit different body types, especially when choosing the right fit and length of the peplum.

Ciara claimed that Princess Kate wears them because: “They’re really flattering and create a feminine shape that suits her style. They’re also coming back into fashion, and like I said before, she has a big influence on British fashion. It makes sense that she’d incorporate them into her wardrobe.”
Back in 2017 Princess Kate’s looked stunning in a structured peplum design by Alexander McQueen during a trip to Poland.
In 2022 she was spotted walking off a plane in a gorgeous royal blue lace dress when she and visited Jamaica on a tour.
The following year the British Royal Family attended the Annual Commonwealth Day Service and Kate looked elegant in a fitted peplum design as she attended church.
Ciara predicted that “statement shoulders and sleeves will be a big trend in 2025.”
She continued: “Bold puffed sleeves, strong shoulders, and cape-like designs will add a dramatic and stylish edge to outfits, making them stand out while still feeling wearable. I also see boho chic making a comeback,
“With lots of suede, earthy tones, and flowing fabrics. Fringe and embroidered details will give it a relaxed, vintage feel that still works for modern wardrobes. These two styles, bold statement pieces and the laid-back boho vibe, will complement each other and define women’s fashion in 2025.”
