We’ve all heard the “dog ate my homework” excuse, but imagine explaining the ate the turkey as you turn up empty handed on Christmas Eve.
This was the case for a mother and daughter as a cheeky pet snatched the entire from the back of the car.
The hilarious was caught on camera as the woman was dropping off presents on Christmas Eve in Armagh, Northern Ireland.
She was getting back into her car when the dog burglar leapt into action, and she heard her daughter saying: “No Chuck, no”.
The Golden Retriever tugged at the turkey and ran away with it in its mouth, before both mother and daughter chased after them.

The mum followed the pet into the field, but had to give up after the dog wouldn’t let go.
Luckily, after explaining the incident to the butcher, they managed to get another turkey in time for Christmas Day.
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: “My immediate reaction was ‘my husband is going to kill me’ and I am going to have to get another bloody turkey.”
