Richard Keys has proudly showcased the impressive progress of his hair transplant, having visited the British Hair Clinic in Essex back in July. The former presenter, once dubbed the “once-hairiest man on TV”, had noticed his hairline receding and decided to take action.
Just five months on, at 67 years old, Keys is witnessing a remarkable transformation with his locks, and anticipates even more growth. The British Hair Clinic came highly recommended to Keys by none other than ex- ace Jason McAteer and talkSPORT’s own Sam Matterface.
A summer video from the clinic captured Keys quipping: “The once-hairiest man on TV has done a little bit today to restore his reputation.” Embracing the twist of fate, Keys has humorously reflected on how he used to seek ways to shed his abundant body hair, only to find himself now eager to encourage its growth.

He said: “What an irony that someone who spent his lifetime trying to remove hair finds himself in the British Hair Clinic looking for them to add hair. I mean, you couldn’t make it up really. But here we are.” Guided by the experiences of McAteer, who emerged from the procedure looking fantastic according to Keys, and the encouraging words of his good friend Matterface, Keys felt reassured.
“At the direction of Jason McAteer, who’s been through this process and looks well for it – at least that’s what he told me – and Sam Matterface, a very good friend of mine who I worked with at talkSPORT for a while,” he said (via ). “Sam, I spoke to this morning, and he said: ‘Brilliant, easy, you’ll love it’.”
In the concluding moments of the video, Keys is seen examining his reflection in the mirror, admiring the freshly inked outline on his scalp that indicates where his new hairline will be positioned.

The presenter, who now plies his trade with beIN SPORTS, has maintained his reputation as a forthright and contentious figure, particularly through his online blog.
In his latest post, he took aim at , criticising the manager for the team’s recent downturn in form and ageing squad issues.

He stated: “The re-build should’ve started 18 months ago. And don’t tell me I’m being smart after the event. How many times did we watch Fergie realise big players were on the cusp of losing their power – so he got rid of them? Remember – 13 titles in 27 seasons.
“Never – ever were United scrambling around in seventh with a record of four points from 24 available. If they didn’t finish top they generally finished second.”
