White vinegar
To use white vinegar to banish limescale, simply fill the kettle halfway with equal parts water and white vinegar in a 1:1 ratio.
Bring the solution to the boil and let it simmer for 15 to 20 minutes in the kettle.
Once the kettle has cooled down, pour out the solution and rinse the kettle thoroughly with clean water to remove any residue.
After cleaning the interior of the kettle, fill it with clean water and boil it once or twice to get rid of any lingering vinegar smell.

Lemon juice and baking soda
The experts explained: “Create a paste in a bowl by mixing lemon juice and baking soda. Ensure the mixture is thick enough to spread quickly and smooth enough.
“Apply the paste directly onto the limescale inside the kettle using a soft brush and a sponge or cloth to spread the paste evenly.
“Allow the lemon juice and baking soda mix to sit on the limescale for up to 20 minutes, as this gives the mixture enough time to break down the mineral deposits.”
After waiting for the paste to set in, scrub it using a soft brush to gently loosen the limescale before thoroughly rinsing it out.
Citric acid and water
Gather citric acid, water, a measuring cup and a soft brush before adding one of the water to the kettle.
Measure one to two tablespoons of citric acid, adding it to the kettle and gently stirring.
Boil the kettle and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Once cool, use the soft brush to gently scrub the interior of the kettle.
Rinse out the kettle multiple times before unveiling your super-clean appliance.
