Max Verstappen has vowed to ban his unborn baby from becoming a racing driver, with the Dutchman naming the one job he’d prefer to see them take.

Verstappen has dominated Formula One in recent years and recently wrapped up his fourth consecutive Drivers’ Championship title.

Already a bonafide legend of the sport, Verstappen’s legacy in Formula One could continue past his own retirement, with the 27-year-old having recently announced he and his partner, Kelly Piquet, are expecting their first child.

It was a topic of conversation in a recent interview with the Talking Bull podcast, with Verstappen saying: “I need to speak to Christian [Horner] about that, I actually don’t want he or she to go into racing. maybe a different role, maybe he or she can design future cars.”

Verstappen isn’t phased by the prospect of welcoming his first child, with the Belgian-born star looking forward to becoming a father.

He continued: “Luckily I did get a little bit of training with Penelope [his partner’s existing child] seeing her grow up already for four years which has been also really nice.

“But for sure when it’s fully your own it’s gonna be a different challenge but I’m looking forward to it.”

On Verstappen’s latest triumph, : “There was a lot of noise and distraction earlier in the year and then the car wasn’t performing and everyone kept their head and worked hard and we got performance on the car in the back end of the year and we have worked our way through it.

“In times of difficulty and when stones are being thrown, it actually galvanises a team. I think there was an element of ‘f*** you’ from the team this year. Our people were saying ‘We are a strong team, no matter what you throw at us, bring it on’.”

The 2025 Formula One season gets going in March 2025.
